Job Summary:

As a Supply Teacher with Recruitory Ltd., you will step into various classroom settings, delivering pre-planned lessons or, in some cases, creating your own lesson plans, ensuring that students’ learning continues in the absence of their regular teacher. This role requires flexibility, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to different school environments and age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering Lessons:
  • Teach and deliver lessons according to the provided lesson plans or create engaging lessons when necessary.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit the needs and abilities of each group of students.
  • Ensure continuity in learning by following the school’s curriculum and adhering to lesson objectives.
• Classroom Management:
  • Maintain discipline and manage student behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Create a positive learning environment that promotes engagement and student participation.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times during class.
• Communication and Reporting:
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as required.
  • Provide feedback on student performance and report any concerns or issues to the appropriate school staff.
  • Complete any required administrative tasks, such as attendance records and marking assignments, if applicable.
• Adapting to Different Settings:
  • Be flexible in teaching various subjects and adapting to different school environments, from primary to secondary schools.
  • Step into classrooms on short notice, demonstrating a strong ability to quickly build rapport with students.
• Professional Conduct:
  • Follow school guidelines and policies on safeguarding, equality, and diversity.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to the ethical standards of teaching.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education and Certification:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification is required.
  • Experience teaching in a primary, secondary, or special educational needs (SEN) environment is preferred.
• Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of different ages and abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Adaptability and the ability to work effectively in various teaching environments.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges in the classroom.
• Experience:
  • Previous experience in teaching or supply teaching is an advantage, though newly qualified teachers are also encouraged to apply.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required or willingness to obtain one.
  • Flexibility to travel to different schools as needed.
